I’ve noticed a lot that people love clean and minimal work spaces, whether it be a working desk where a laptop or computer is placed or a study table or a writing table. Whatever it be, they are clean work spaces.
But for me, I think the cluttered workspace is what every creative person needs. Creativity is not a straight thing, it comes out of anything and everything. That’s why all the great ideas clicked people’s minds when they were not doing the work that would get them to that idea. And that’s why I think cluttered environments are important for all creatives, because it keeps us free, free from the burden of being organised, we can think freely. Because creativity is not organised, it’s sudden, unpredictable. And this is not just me, all the great writers and artists had very cluttered workspaces. And if you can SEE, you will notice a very different kind of beauty in every messy workspace. “Organised Mess” is what they call it.
